The best outfits from the film ‘Sylvie's Love'

Have you seen the movie ‘Sylvie’s Love’ movie? The American drama takes place in the 50s, in Harlem, and follows the story of Sylvie.

Sylvie (stared by Tessa Thompson) is a lovely and gorgeous young woman with huge dreams and hopes, and when she meets an aspiring saxophonist, Robert (stared by Nnamdi Asomugha), in her father’s record shop, her life starts to change.. The film is a great love story, tearing down many barriers and showing us that when it’s real, love conquers everything.

The costume designer Phoenix Mellow brought back, perfectly, the cool and glamorous 50/60s style. Do you know that the amazing blue evening gown is actually from the Chanel Resort 2011 collection? Yes, the film budget was really tight, so they needed to be creative. After many mood boards and ideas exchanged, Mellow and Thompson got a “yes” from Chanel to open its contemporary archives for the movie. The strong relationship between Thompson and the brand helped a lot to achieve an amazing final result, and we can’t help to show you our favourite outfits of the leading lady, Sylvie!

May contain outfit spoilers.

1. Checked Blue Top

No secret we worship check fabrics, and this summery halter neck top is just perfect. No doubt one of the cutest looks of Sylvie with her bae!

2.

Yellow Dress

Such a stylish yellow dress with a V neck, wide collar, and full of vintage vibes! Pity that this look only appears in one scene of the movie. This kind of dress elongates her silhouette, making her look taller and elegant.

3. Blue Palette Outfit

This is such a simple look but makes Sylvie shine. The sky blue t-shirt topped of with the blue tones knotted neckerchief is, for sure, an everyday look that you can wear for a lot of different occasions like work, for a walk or a party, and changing the knot whoever you prefer, for the sides or in the front.

4. Chanel Blue Evening Gown

This one is absolutely gorgeous! We dare to say that this blue colour seriously compliments Sylvie’s skin tone. Knowing which colours suit your own skin tone better is a secret ingredient to make you look flawless and stand out!
