The best outfits from “The Serpent” BBC series
The 70s was one of the most memorable and stylish decades of all time, from the bug-eye and square sunnies to the flares, bell sleeves, silky shirts, and miniskirts. This decade it is making a huge comeback, and if you are a 70s fashion fan, this series is for you!
Twisted and wicked, if you truly love crime and drama, The Serpent is the right mini-series for you. Based on real life events it tells the story of the serial killer Charles Sobhraj (stared by Tahar Rahim), and his girlfriend Marie-Andrée Leclerc known as “Monique” (stared by Jenna Coleman), who murdered Western tourists on Southeast Asia’s hippie trail in the ’70s.
Rachel Walsh did a spectacular job as the costume designer of the series. We couldn’t stop noticing all the amazing outfits from the glamourous Monique whose wardrobe was inspired by such personalities as Jane Birkin, Bianca Jagger, and Françoise Hardy. Every piece that Coleman wears in the show is an original piece, with only four copies made of each, for stunt doubles and damages.
Now we leave you with the best outfits of Monique in The Serpent series.
